I don't think I have ever fit so many events into a three day period. The fun began Thursday Night when my Mom and Two sisters Debra Jo and Jodi arrived....

Thursday: Homemade meal and exploration of the Lincoln, Vietnam, Washington, and World Ward Two Memorial... Oh, and we can't forget the Fro yo we ate after our excursion that evening.

Friday: The American History Museum, Washington Monument (it was on the way back to the car), White House, Vietnam Memorial (had to see it in the Sun light), World War Two Memorial (we forgot to show them all the gold stars representing 100 soldiers), Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Potbelly for Dinner, and then to end our evening we enjoyed a session at the DC Temple.

Saturday: Enjoyed sleeping in, German Pancakes for Breakfast, Mount Vernon, Hamburgers in Georgetown, Georgetown Cupcakes for dessert, The Jefferson Monument, George Mason Memorial.

Sunday: Baby Blessing in DC, Arlington Cemetery, Lunch at our home, Ronald Reagan National Airport.

Michael Horn top athlete of Team Horn competed extremely well today in the Nation's Triathlon. This triathlon benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for all 4500 triathletes and over 5000 spectators today. Official times have yet to come in this is where

This past week and a half Mike and I have been lucky enough to have our great friends Adam and Liz come and visit for a whopping 12 DAYS! :) It was so much fun having them we are sad they are gone but are grateful for the fun memories and a full nights rest! :)

We found Adams Building that he owns down town DC he rents the bottom portion out to the SPY Museum, and rents the one condo out to a nice couple above.

Mike is famous for either putting too little charcoal or way too much... can you tell what our problem is in this picture based off of Adam using our blow up mattress pump to blow air on the coals? lol Liz and I were cracking up, my favorite part about this picture is if you look closely you will see a small cloud of ash coming up from the grill right in front of Mike... The Hot Dogs were good but gritty. :) lol

4th of July at Mt. Vernon, it was fun hearing The Deceleration of Independence read and seeing the men walk around in there uniforms. :)

Taylor and I had to resort to cheating so we could say we one at least one game. :) lol (Tyson caught us though so we never actually won)

It is my hope and prayer that all will go well (weather, flights, etc.) so I can make my destination to my family this upcoming week. I love you guys can't wait to see you! :)

The Best Four Years!

Its crazy to think that Mike and I have been married for four years already. Time truly does fly it feels like yesterday we were beginning our journey together as a couple. For our four year anniversary Mike and I celebrated by eating at a restaurant down town called Co Co Sala. They are well known for their CHOCOLATE.... what more could a girl ask for? We had a lot of fun taking the metro downtown and then walking to the restaurant. We had a difficult time deciding what to order we were too focused on the desserts and realized we needed some nutrition before desert came. My favorite thing about the evening was not being rushed at the resturant. I dis like resturants that want you to come in eat and leave we had such a nice time talking, laughing, and being us. Here is what we ordered:

Appetizer:

FOUR CHEESE FRITTERS

(gruyère, parmigiano reggiano, roquefort, & cheddar / chipotle chocolate tomato cream sauce)

Main Course:

CHICKEN SLIDER TRIO (Mike's choice)

(tandoori chicken patties / cardamom carrots & greens /rosemary & parmesan fries)

BACON MAC & CHEESE (Erin's choice)

(orechiette / four cheeses / crispy bacon)

Dessert:

‘BASIL & BERRY SHORTCAKE’ (Mike's choice)

(strawberry shortcake / lemon mascarpone cream / basil foam /cocoa nib crunch)

‘A STICKY SITUATION’ (Erin's choice)

(warm sticky toffee pudding cake / chocolate shavings / brown butter toffee sauce / ginger caramel ice cream)

Look how cute our desert is... I was able to eat my whole dessert with out ruining the chocolate writing... Mike was laughing at me. :)

After dinner we walked around downtown for an hour or so. I love Mike he is the best husband any girl could ask for. I love you Mike, thanks for a great four years so far can't wait for the rest of our lives. Love you.

We loved the hustle and bustle of the city, we ate phenomenal food, and we loved all of the different buildings and posters that add splashes of color to New York.

Empire State Building not a fan of the cold air but was worth freezing our hind ends off for the spectacular view of the city.

I feel as if the years have flown by like a swift bird headed South for the Winter. Life seems like such a long journey to our final destination. Yet, as each year passes I find myself reminiscing about the one's that have come before. I think to myself "Am I really that old, can my little Brothers who once sat in my lap be taller than I, are all those fond memories of childhood really that far in the past" I can't even begin to imagine how my Mother and Father feel having five grown children that are teenagers, grown adults, married, and some who have children. Yet as life seems to pass us by like the soft, quiet, swift wings of a Butterfly I find that every swift moment that has so quickly come and gone I would never change it for the world. I would like to tell you about my Dad who has been one of the very important people in my life to make my life here on Earth a wonderful experience thus far. Here is a little bit about this Extraordinary Man.

He is the Youngest child in his Family which Yes makes him the FAVORITE as his siblings would say (or they like to tease him to make him think that) :)

He is Patriotic at heart and literally a PYRO!

I couldn't find the picture of my Dad with me at my dive meet Senior Year of High School but going to Taylor's Dive meets always reminded me of my Senior year for some reason. I specifically recall being completely bombarded with wonderful stress my Senior year. I was in Dive, Choir, Dance, Junior Miss, and the Easter Pageant. Life seemed to be great until I didn't win any scholarship money for Junior Miss, I placed lower than I wanted to at State Dive Championships, and I had been pulled out of the majority of my dances for our End of the year Dance show for missing dress rehearsal for attending General Conference and wanting to keep the sabbath day holy. I specifically remember driving home from my Jr. Miss competition and crying on the way home feeling like an absolute failure. I called my Dad on the phone because I didn't know what to do and I remember him telling me that Heavenly Father doesn't have us be the spotlight sometimes for reasons we don't understand at the time. He gave me his love and told me how proud he was of me and how glad and happy he was to be my Dad. He told me how much our Heavenly Father loved me and appreciated me for all that I had been doing so far in my life. He comforted me and helped me feel better about myself. It wasn't until a short time after graduation that I had a personal realization that my Senior year I hadn't failed at all but instead had been extremly blessed in many areas and aspects in my life. Thank you Dad for guiding me to the Light in one of my gloomy moments in life.

We wish this was from Christmas morning but... it wasn't... this was two weeks before. :)

Miracle on 39th street in Baltimore, Maryland. This block goes all out with Christmas lights something exciting on the East coast hardly anyone puts up lights.

The Avenue... just a couple of blocks from the lights we saw. Very fun place with ADORABLE boutiques and near by a delicious pizza place. I forget the name of the store but this was the perfect example of what individuals from Maryland are really like. Their slices of pizza were 18inch wide by 20inch long... way too much pizza for one person but delicious. Mike had his own slice and I had a Philly cheese steak sooo good but we both almost had a heart attack when walking around for the rest of the night. lol

Did you know that on Christmas Eve you can go to National Harbor and see Santa, his reindeer, and other christmas favorites Skiing on the Potomac River no matter what the weather condition is! Yes, my dear friends we got to see Santa and his Elves ski in water that is 33 degrees and 38 degrees outside. Here are all of our fun pictures...

Sweet Laughter...

So, tonight Mike makes a fabulous Beef stir fry with rice noodles in peanut thai sauce for us while I am out walking the dog in the twenty degree weather. (I volunteered myself for this as I didn't want to make dinner :) We have a delicious dinner filled with each of our own recap of the day. I finish my dinner before Mike come back to the table to sit down while he finishes his food. I notice our dog Kaiser has been sitting a good foot from Mike begging for some thai food.

It is at this moment Mike looks at Kaiser and says "Sorry you do not get any of this Asian food your German" "I'll give you a brought worst next time we have them" I then lose myself in laughter. Mike turns to me and says "I love making you laugh even if it is not that funny" I think this comment is hilarious and love my husband for every time he makes me smile, giggle, and enjoy life. He is my forever.

Mike and I had the opportunity to visit Rachael and Eric in Madison, Wisconsin this year for Thanksgiving. We had such a great time enjoying the cold crisp air and the beautiful architecture of Madison and Chicago!!! :) Hope you enjoy the pictures! :)

Trick or Treat!

Tonight I met Buzz Light year, Woody, a Ballerina, an awesome Giraffe, and many other characters.

Our Halloween officially began after our stake conference today with the following events...

Mike didn't want me to see what he was going to carve so I wasn't allowed to look until he was fully finished... It was easy not to look since I was fully enthralled in the design of my own pumpkin.

I ended up carving... SPARKY the ASU Sun Devil Mascot...

I spent way too much time carving this thing... It took me two hours I literally did it all by hand and realized that we need to invest in a dremel...

After carving pumpkins we decided to BBQ... well, Mike started grilling while I was finishing up my pumpkin... But I did manage to clean and set the table before dinner was done... so I did help him out.

I love my husband... he is the best... I am so blessed to have him in my life.

Kabobs and asparagus... DELICIOUS... I officially married a man that can grill just as good as my Dad... and that's a big deal because that was a requirement for us to get married.. ;)

Mike decided to carve two pitch forks into his pumpkin... can you tell we are originally from Arizona and both attended ASU? :)

See if I had a Dremel then you would be able to see sparky's teeth better... maybe I'll ask for one for Christmas... :)

Here is our house... does it look spooky? We enjoyed talking with one another in our front yard next to our fire pit while passing out candy to the little kids... we had so much fun and enjoyed some SMORES... another investment is to purchase "fire less logs" ... I mean "smoke less logs" Mike will never let me go for calling them fire less logs... :)

Trunk or Treat

So, last night was our wards Trunk or Treat. It was so much fun. I went as "A Local" and Mike went as an Eskimo... We didn't actually attend the Trunk or Treat together because Mike kinda didn't go.

Mike had the opportunity to be an eskimo at heart while he slept out in the forty degree weather for an overnight Scout Master Camp Out Training meeting... :) I hope he is having fun and enjoying using his awesome new camping gear that he bought at REI for a STEAL...

REI each year has this awesome ATTIC sale where they sell their returned items for amazing prices...

He will get back later on today and I can't wait to see him.

BACK to the Trunk or Treat, it was so much fun I got a ride with Courtney and Sam, they have this ADORABLE little 2 year old Bria my favorite quotes from her last night...

We had so much fun, everyone looked great, the kids in our ward got enough candy to last them two weeks, and we went to a little diner for treats after the ward trunk or treat with some friends where we danced to tunes we picked from the juke box and enjoyed people's comical stares at us dressed up in our halloween costumes.

So, Mike and I have been super busy working and serving in our callings. Mike was just called as the Scout Master for our Ward and I have been serving since our second week in this ward as the Young Women's Secretary. We are loving life and the challenges and triumphs that it brings and having visitors is always fun....

It was a lot of fun going to all the monuments with Eleanor her whole family is involved with the those who serve to keep our nation safe... it was so neat to hear reasons why men and women wear certain uniforms, different ranking system and to hear stories of her brothers serving... it brought such a deeper meaning and gratitude to my heart for our military men, women and there families.

Anyways we thought that these statues were only that tall but Mike informed us we were way off and that these statues were easily 8ft tall... lol we laughed and had to get a picture next to our "6ft" statues... :)

The Perfect Birthday

Gratitude, joy and peace filled my heart this weekend as I survived my first Birthday ever in my life away from close family and friends. There is something about being away from family that creates this huge bond between one another. I feel my love and appreciation has grown so much more for family and close friends since I do not have the opportunity to see them everyday. I realize the deep importance of a single phone call, a letter sent in the mail, and the outward expressions of love for one another.

So, hence my Perfect Birthday went something like this...

Friday evening:

My sweet husband threw a party for me and invited co-workers and friends we have recently met. I am so grateful and thankful for the hours of preparation done by my husband for this event, baking a cake for me, cleaning the house, running errands so we would have enough food for everyone and then a wonderful evening of fun planned. Then the amount of people that came to get to know us better meant so much to me... I will be forever grateful for the time they each took to come over and spend an evening with us.

Saturday "The Birthday":

Breakfast made by the adorable husband I had my absolute favorite Eggs and toast with a side of fruit.

Then a walk to the park with our dog where our dog for once watched Mike and I play catch. :)

Lunch time not only did I enjoy a sandwich but had fun opening Birthday packages sent by family!

A walk down King Street in Old Town where my sweet husband was so kind to let our conversation be girl talk... :) Our conversations consisted of food, fashion, makeup, decoration ideas and aspirations, photography, and then to top it off he sweetly asked how I was coping with my first birthday away from family and friends. (This all happened during walking down King St., dinner, and the trip back home)

We then arrived home and enjoyed watching a movie on our lap top, outback next to our new fire pit.

Sunday:

Yesterday was my Mom's 25th Birthday! Yes, unfortunatley my mom is quite lucky she quit aging after the age of 25 so each year she turns 25 again. As my Dad would put it... "She's a BABE". Well, I couldn't help but think of my mom all yesterday and today as this is the first Birthday of her's that I have missed in 22 years and I am just so grateful for my mom.

I would like everyone who is reading this to know how much I LOVE my mother. She is the greatest she is there for me when I am Sad, Angry, having a bad day, sick, happy, laughing, scared, had a bad dream, and the list could literally go on and on.

She is just wonderful, I can't help but reflect on all the times she has stayed up late with me when I was a little kid sick in bed or how many times she has had to cook meals for me growing up or how many times she has had to put up with my stubborness or temper tantroms as a kid and even today still. :)

My mom has taught me practically everything I know and for that I am eternally grateful for. My mom is such a beautiful and amazing daughter of our Heavenly Father, she is a virtuous woman who loves the Lord and puts her faith and trust in his hands. While growing up I can not count how many times I would find my mom reading her scriptures at night and there were many times I would waltz right in her room to ask her a question and find her kneeling on her knees praying.

She is such a great examplar to me and I love her for all of her acomplishments in life, who she is, and for her righteous deeds and acts.

As my Dad so perfectly puts it when singing to his mother when she was here:

Mother dear, I love you so,

it's such a joy to look at,

You make home a lovly place.

When driving across the country on a new and big adventure I couldn't help but have a song to sing for every state we entered...... Yes, funny and strange but I love music and I LOVE to sing...... Mike would laugh at me every time we entered a new state and would say "What song do you have this time?" Here are my following suggestions to sing if you ever drive across the U.S.

New Mexico > Out on the open road (from a goofy movie)
Texas> I was too excited for Texas so practically sang "Home on the Range" the whole way there
Oklahoma> The musical (O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A where the wind comes right behind the rain)
Arkansas>
Tennessee> Too excited for Memphis, TN I kept singing the song (Walking in Memphis)
North Carolina>
Virginia> Didn't have a song.... :)

Ok, so technically I only had a total of FOUR songs I sang going across the country! :) I swear I sang more.... :) Maybe not! Anyways, if you ever drive across the country and come up with any songs to sing for AK, NC, or VA..... let me know. Until then hope you enjoy all the pictures from our FABULOUS road trip. That was my favorite one to watch.... :)

Three wonderful Years

So, Mike and I officially had an opportunity to celebrate our anniversary last night. As of May 12, 2010 Mike and I have been married for 3 years. Our marriage has gone by so fast yet at the same time we feel as if we have been together for a lifetime. In celebration of our anniversary almost a week ago we went out to eat at the Olive Garden. We had such a wonderful time, we were like best friends talking while waiting for our food. Mike and I played a really fun game where you get to use your imagination. Mike came up with the game (he is so cute) he asked me "if money were not an issue or insurance policies what four cars would you want to own in our future four car garage" (I smiled) Here are my four I came up with a four door jeep wrangler to go mud bogging in with the family, a red Ferrari for Mike and I's special occasions aka date night or work party, a suburban for day to day use picking kids up to and from school etc, and last I would want a Titan truck to take our family out camping along with our dog Kaiser. It is a log of fun you should try playing our game, you can come up with so many different things like what four rooms would you like in a home, what four pairs of shoe's would you want to own, what four places in the world would you travel and why, etc. It is a lot of fun to let your imagination go and be a kid again. I am so thankful for my husband and the man he is, he makes me smile everyday and continually helps me strive to be a better person. I love you Mike you are my sweet heart.

Mike officially graduated from Arizona State University on Saturday May 15, 2010 at the Wells Fargo Arena. He graduated Suma Cum-Laude witha Bachelor of Arts in History and Culture from the College of Letters and Sciences. I am so proud of him and all of his hard work this past three years. Michael has had the opportunity to be involved on the ASU campus putting on programs for the student body along with keeping a full time job and attending school full time. Way to go Mike for a job well done.

Today is a bitter sweet day, my loving grandmother Wanda Peterson Tenney passed away. Although, we are sad that she is no longer with us I am forever grateful for her legacy she has left behind. My sweet Grandmother has left me the following:

A wonderful Dad who lives and loves the gospel

To have Endurance no matter what your trial

Have Faith in the Heavenly Father and in Jesus Christ

To Love the scriptures and to read from them

That every Prayer is heard

To say I love you to family and give them a hug when ever you see them

The Perfect Valentine

Michael truly is the perfect Valentine, on Saturday February 13th Michael took me out for Valentine's day. We rode his bikes down to discovery park (5 1/2 miles away from our house) had a picnic, played football with each other and rode home. We had such a fun time together at the park eating our lunch together and playing catch and being silly with hiking the ball to one another. And, to tell you the truth the biking really wasn't that bad either. I really enjoyed the bike ride even though Michael is a lot faster biker than I am. Michael truly is the best; and I love him very much. Enjoy the pictures of our fun adventure together. :)

Yoga master Michael (More like sitting master Michael) Mike and I are taking a Yoga class together this semester. It is a lot of fun. Yoga is actually really intense and is quite the work out.

Did I call my mom or dad today and say I love you and appreciate you?
Does my extended family know I wish the best for them and love them?
Have I been a good friend to those that are in need?
Have I served those in need?
Have I been a friend to all?
Did I smile enough at others passing my way?
Have I focused enough on the good things and not worried about the hard times?
Have I stood up for the underdog and boosted individuals self esteem?
Have I given all that I can to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?
Have I apologized to those that I have offended or hurt?
Have I given all that I can to make the world a better place?

All of these questions ran through my head today after having a threat come into our office today at work. Sitting at work not knowing whether the individual threatening us would come in like he said he would or if he was just trying to get a rise out of us. Either way I sat and thought have I lived a life of service and love? I am definitely thinking about my life differently now and what I can do to better it.

The Adventure Begins!

Here we are Saturday Morning on June 27, 2009! Rachael and Eric had fun events planned for the morning before the wedding in the evening. So, you could either go hiking with Rachael or Mountain Biking with Eric. So, Michael and I decided to go Mountain Biking with Eric. Once we arrived to the bike rental area by the ski lift we realized Eric and his buddies were going to be riding their bike's up the mountain and then down it. A little too intense for us so we decided to take the ski lift up the mountain and then ride down. :) Don't get me wrong it still wasn't that easy we still had to do a lot of work and go up some huge hills. Here we are beginning our journey on the ski lift. Nate Tiffany's husband decided to go mountain biking as well; we all choose to stick together. It was so much fun.

The Mountains at Sundance Ski Resort are gorgeous; see the snow on top of the mountain in the middle. The weather was absolutly great we didn't even need jackets.

I was trying to capture how steep this part of the ski lift was; it literally felt like we were on an elevator going straight up and the mountain face was directly in front of us. Here is a picture from behind looking out towards the mountains. See how far up the ski lift we are! Almost to the top; and then our adventure begins.

Michael and Nate; this part of the trail was really difficult because of all the loose gravel if you are not careful your front wheel will go one direction and the back will go the other.

This trail was beautiful can you see the gorgous mountains behind us. This trail was so cool because you are surrounded by mountains and they are all visible. Where as the other trails it is more through the tree's.

See those little bushes at the bottom of the photo that is the only thing that would catch you if you were to slip off the trail with your mountain bike. It was really scary at first but you get used to it once your adrenaline gets pumping. (It was worth the scenery)

Michael had so much fun mountain biking I am so glad I choose to go with him and Nate; we had such a blast.

The Reception / Wedding Dinner

At dinner before the reception began. This picture does not do any justice how beautiful the tables looked but I was to imberassed to stand on my chair and get an arial view of the table setting. I don't think Rachael and Eric would have appreciated that either. :) The food was absolutly amazing we had a delicious salad with rolls, fish for the main course along with rice, and Strawberry Short Cake to top off the dinner. Not to mention sweet toast's given during dinner by family and friends. I was about to stand up and give a toast as well but we were all cut off. (I guess the time had ended)

So, here is my toast, I am Rachael's favorite sister in-law on the Horn side of the family. :) (Unfortunatly I am her only sister in law :) ) Due to Rachael being such a dedicated doctor in Salt Lake I have not had the opportunity to get to know her very well when Michael and I were first married but, about a year ago at the family reunion we had for the Burton's. While in attendance to the reunion we stayed in Salt Lake and had the opportunity to meet Eric and spend time with Rach. My favorite and first memory of who Rachael really is was when we were all enjoying our last night in Salt Lake and Rachael came to our hotel to say good bye and spend one more hour with us. We had so much fun giggling and talking and catching up it was truly a precious moment. We began to say good bye and as Rachael began to say her goodbye she couldn't help but cry. (precious tears were rolling down her cheeks) It was then that I realized how much love Rachael has for each of us as her family and it made me see how sentamental and how much she loves being involved in our lives. It was so neat to feel that Rachael realized we were here for her no matter what. It truly is my favorite and most precious moment of Rachael. I know she loves us and we are so proud of her and her accomplishments in life. We couldn't be more extatic about our new big brother Eric he is such a grat listener and makes you feel so important when talking to him. He truly takes in all your ambitions and ideas. (He is so nice) We are so excited for Rachael and Eric may god bless their marriage and their experiences together. Congratulations to the Bride and Groom. And, welcome to the Horn family Eric. Cheers! We had so much fun dancing at the reception this is Eric's little brother Joe and his mom Rebecca having a great time dancing. Michael and I had so much fun and the live band was great. The Chello player stood up on his Chello as he played it was so fun.

Michael had fun playing go fish with our adorable neices the next morning. They were so cute trying to figure out who had cards that they needed. Michael and I just love the girls and Angie, and Carol. :)

Yup, that is right our dog thinks he rules the house when we are away. No, we had our fabulous friends Amy and Justin watch our dog for us while we were in Utah. They are the best ever for taking care of our adorable dog. Going on vacation is so much fun and relaxing but the last hour Michael and I were talking about random stuff and I was taking pictures of random things. aka my hair?? Don't ask me why after driving for 9 hours you are just ready to be home. :)

Alright this was not a random picture it was a beautiful sun set on the way home. I love the rays coming out from behind the clouds.

Freedom in the United States!

Hi Everyone,

It has been way to long since I have last seen my blog! I received an e-mail that my dad forwarded to me and wanted to share my thoughts on the price of our freedom. Freedom is by no means free it is a blessing we earn by standing up for what is right even if that means we are standing alone. Freedom is received by hard work, lot's of learning, and letting your voice be heard. The following quote was part of the e-mail my dad forwarded it really hit home.

Thomas Jefferson said this, "The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits." That is so powerful and true. We need to do all in our power to strengthen our homes, our families and the principles upon which this great nation was founded upon. You great women are doing just that! You are teaching and educating your children, your grandchildren, your neighbors and your friends about the cost of freedom, the sanctity of marriage, life and the preservation of the family. Our nation will not be great unless our homes and communties are strong. If we raise lazy, unappreciative, indulgent children, what do we expect in our future nation? We must stand for truth and freedom always!

My Funny but Scary near death experience!

Ok, so tonight Michael went to the temple while I attended a baptism and Enrichment Night for Releif Society. So, I get home at 8:30 take the dog out like normal then get home and think I am going to be an awesome wife and cook my husband dinner.
After I made this decision I realized that it was already 8:50p.m and Mike said he would be home at 9:00 being the genius that I am I think Oh! I'll make hamburgers but all we had was frozen beef. So, I decided since I was short on time I would not defrost it I would just cook it for 3 minutes to defrost it.
By this time Michael arrives home and I pull the meat out to grill hambergers while I open up the meat package I realize the meat has been cooked all the way through. Mike says "oh I was really hungry" I said don't worry we will just have taco's we will break up the cooked meat and put taco seasoning on it and it will be fine. We put the seasoning on it and pull out the taco shells and I go to taste the meat and take a small bite and it is absolutly descusting, tough, and dry. I take another bite anyways because I am hungry but did so the same time Mike had a descusted look on his face from tasting it. I emediatly began to laugh and while doing so enhaled a big pieace of meat. I began coughing but couldn't get the meat out of my wind pipe. Michael is standing in front of the stove talking to himself saying oh I will fix it and make it taste better. In the mean time I am still coughing paniking what the heck I am going to do. I hit Mike on the shoulder to get his attention to do the choking symbol so he could help me but no he doesn't even look my way so I run to the sink and and continue to cough praying the meat will come out of my lungs once I am finally done coughing practically to death Michael then comes over and says are you ok. I got mad and said No I could have died I needed your help and needed someone to pat my back to help me get the meat out Michael then says well you didn't make the choking sign and then began laughing and said you wouldn't look at me. We both were laughing histerically and both had lessons we learned.
So, even though it was scary it was really funny just because serves me right for laughing with food in my mouth and Michael learned he needs to look at me when I am frantically patting him on the shoulder for help. ha ha lol

Lunch at Serranos!

I am so excited! My friends Matt Laney and Cameron Boheme just recently came home from their missions. So, Wednesday the 26th of November we all decided to go to lunch at Serranos. We had so much fun catching up and eating food! What more could you ask for? Here I am with my good friends Sara Reheis, and Kaylene Woods.

Here are the five of us at Matt's house. It was so much fun to see everyone basically since Cameron and Matt left on their missions. I love each and everyone of them so much, I don't know what I would do without such great examples in my life. They each bring so many different strenghts to my life they will never truly know the impact they have had on me.

We used to call ourselves the Triangle in High School because we were all best friends all four years at Mesquite. We were practically inseperable. ha ha lol

Hiking at Superstition Mountain!

Michael and I decided to go hiking on Tuesday morning. Well, we decided to take the dog on his first hike. We went to Superstition Springs Mountain at the wind caves. We had such a great time and Kaiser kept us at a really good pace. The top two pictures of Michael and I we are at the top of the mountain and then my favorite pictures are of Kaiser sticking his head out the window and his little lips flying everywhere. He enjoyed sticking his head out the window on the way their but on the way home his slept all the way back and then he slept for another hour once we got home. It was so nice cause Michael and I were exhausted after the hike.

Are you the Mix 96.9 10,000 dollar Mystery Shopper???

So,three weeks ago Debra Jo and I wanted to find the Mix 96.9 10,000 dollar mystery shopper. We thought they were at Superstition Springs mall. So, I called her and asked if she wanted to come with me to find the shopper. Off we go.............

Ahhhhh I hope we find them!!! It was so cute on the car ride over we were trying to get Tyson to say the phrase " Are you the mix 96.9 10,000 dollar mystery shopper" and it was so cute he said the word are and then I turned around and said "You" and he giggled every other word of the phrase we said he giggled every time we tried to get him to say it. It was adorable.

Getting discouraged we decided to ride the carosel before we left to brighten our spirits because Tyson was roaring like a Tiger. So, we hop on and Debra Jo goes to sit him on the Tiger and he starts crying. ha ha lol It was so funny the whole ride he just clung to Debra Jo.

Never to young to ride a carosel. I rode the Unicorn. : )

Boulder Colorado!

Boulder Colorado Here we come! I had the opportunity to go to Boulder this past weekend from Thursday until Sunday! For a convention called IACURH! IACURH is a leadership convention for Community Assisitants and RHA (Resident halls assistants) around the nation for University students! The theme of the convention was The legend of the hidden leadership. It was based off the old game show legend of the hidden temple. I learned so much that I can now share with my team at work and have great ideas for fun programs that will hopefully get our residents out to them. It was such a fun learning experience and I hope I am able to attend the next convention NACURH in February.

Holy Cow! Talk about squished! four of us piled into the cab of Britny's dad's truck to the air port and even better I am holding the display in the front seat cause it would fly out of the back. So, I couldn't see anything. Everyone kept teasing me and was like "Oh no were going to crash look out ahhhhhh" It was so funny and such a great experience to start off the trip!

The subway system was so cool at the air port! I have never been on one before so it was fun holding onto the polls and the hand loops at the top of the subway!

Holy Cow! Ok! So, in colorado they have the cutest chip muncks ever! And, they are so fat and plump too! I wanted to catch one and keep it! But, I wasn't fast enough so I took a picuture!

While in Colorado the Athletic Director spoke to us about being successful and during his speech we would cheer at the good parts that he spoke about. Well, he had mentioned that their basketball team was playing that night and that our energy of all those from IACURH would make a big difference at the game. Their was about 400 students total that attended IACURH. He asked if we would be interested in going to the game and we said yes! So, we all got free t-shirts that we are wearing in the picture, we got into the game for free, and he ordered all of us pizza. It was a lot of fun! And, The Buffaloes won 43 to 32. It was a great game.
This is Cyri she is from The University of Utah. She and I became good friends during the Convention.

Here is Eleanor on the left and Britny on the right. They are inseperable. I thought that this picture was cute because during the whole convention in you found Britny you found Eleanor and if you found Eleanor you found Britny. And, they wore almost the same outfits the whole time, jackets and everything. : )

You can't see it but my left hand is full of stuff and Ryan's left hand is full of stuff! We both wanted to leave a note on UofA door so we had to help each other take the cap of the marker off. Well, putting the cap back on was the most difficult and it took us about three tries to get the cap back on! We are such NERDS!!! : )

Their were huge wooden pallets full of these candles lit every where. Total their were five of these all around the chapel and outside of the chapel. They light a candle for every saint that they have.

Watching movies almost every other weekend was a natural accurence in High School! Cars is one of my favorites! I just love Pixar films! You can't help but Smile, Laugh, feel good, and want to enjoy life when you see a Pixar film!

My best friend Kaylene and my guy friends always wore Volcom. Ok! not always but pretty much! Volcom was on our folders, our clothes, even our shoes! ha ha

Who doesn't love pictures! We were constantly taking pictures and placing them all over our folders. We were such nerds!

Who doesn't like Avril! We loved rocking out to music with our windows down and singing at the top of our lungs along with our stereo turned up almost as loud as it could go!

I recently went to Grande Junction, Colorado for RAppin! This event RAppin is for RA's/CA's that work at different Universities around the U.S.. We had such a great time and were able to learn a lot about leadership. Britny and myself had to present at RAppin and our program that we taught to 30 students was named one of the TOP 5 best programs at RAppin for 2008! Britny and I were so excited. It is fun to see hard work pay off!
Mike has been really focusing on school and is doing FABULOUS in all of his classes. He is such a great dedicated student and is getting good grades. He recently went to a Museum in Mesa for his History 134 class!

Mike and I also went to our first Halloween party together this year! It was a great party and we hung out with our friends Adam and Elizabeth Zamora (In the middle of the picture) and Debra Jo and Mitch Borden my fabulous sister and brother in law. Oh! and how could we forget my adorable nephew Tyson and the Zamoras sweet little girl Mia.

Mike and I also recently went to the Arizona State Fair and saw Weezer perform and better yet went in support of our friends Jeff Williamson, and Andrew Hawks. Who won a contest to play with Weezer on stage for three songs. They all did such a great job and it was a lot of fun!

Crazy things in California!

Ok! So, this is not that crazy but pretty! All the sail boats are fun to watch come in and out of the harbor! They are so beautiful gliding out on the water! It makes me want to go sailing!
So, we love this Chevron gas station in California because it is one of the very, very, very, very few gas stations that accept credit! Because this trip was last minute Michael and I didn't think to take any cash. So, we appreciate this Chevron for it's wonderful customer service in providing the option of credit to its customers!
So, Michael wanted me to take a picture of all of the Vespas. We came to a stop light and across the way was a huge group of Vespians! Not motercycle dudes but Vespians! ha ha It was really cool seeing all of them!
This is the U.S.S. Midway! It is a old Navy ship that you are able to take tours on! Mike and I were not able to get a tour of the ship but just standing next to it was amazing! It was really cool! When Mike and I go back to California to visit Angie we want to stop and get a tour of this huge carrier!

Sea Port Village in San Diego, California!
Sea Port Village was such a blast! We enjoyed walking around, looking at all the little shops, and eating fun food and treats! They had really neat shops! Mike and I's favorite would have to be the kite shop, and the hammock store. They had bright hammocks and Michael and I enjoyed sitting in the hammocks thinking how fun it would be to bring one home! But our place is way too small for a hammock! The kites were really neat too. They had all sorts of contraptions that you could throw, fly, and launch.
Ok! So these pictures here are at Sea Port Village. The way they have all the shops set up are in like a town setting they are all close together hence making little street like sidewalks! Well every now and then in the street were these performers. These pictures are of a sword swallower, and flame eater. Well, also he could be qualified as crazy. I was one of the lucky volunteers to stand on a wooden board that was placed on top of this performer who was laying on a bed of nails! Yes, a bed of NAILS! I wasn't the only one their were three other people standing on the board with me and the two men on the side were helping all of us keep our balance. It was crazy looking down at this man's face as we stood on him on the bed of nails! I don't ever want to have to do that again. It is just a weird feeling walking away from that situation you don't feel bad, sad, happy, or joy just a feeling of nothingness. But, I will say it is kind of cool now being able to say I stood on a man who laid on a bed of nails!
This was the after I stood on the man who was on the bed of nails! You can tell my smile is a Oh my Gosh type of smile! ha ha lol

Yes, it is a Boy! Our new German Short haired pointer! Kaiser! He is so much fun. As of today he is 12 weeks old. We got him on July 30, 2008. He was 8 weeks ol at the time. It is so funny because even though we have only had him for four weeks he has gotten a lot bigger. This picture to the right was right after we got him!

Yes, it is offical Eric and my amazing sister in-law Rachael are ENGAGED!!!

So, I think all of the Horn's would have to agree with me that this is the best picture of the whole trip. We were all hanging out in Grandma and Grampa Burton's backyard Sunday afternoon. When Eric (the soon to be brother in-law) was sitting on the grass with his legs crossed with a piece of the grass sticking out of his mouth. When my adorable niece Chealsea picked a piece of grass stuck it in her mouth and sat just like Eric on the grass. It was so cute. She imitated him for at least 10 minutes it was great! Michael and I adore our nieces Chealsea and Aubriana.
