Build this, build that, invest in this, invest in that, lower our deficit,

How can we keep spending money we don't have and lower the deficit when it will take generations to pay back?

Why did I just ruin a great evening by watching 10 minutes of television?

I wish the President would spend a month in a small business owners shoes, a school teachers shoes, a dance instructors shoes, a factory workers shoes, a single mothers shoes, a working middle class fathers shoes, a doctors shoes, an engineers shoes, a .

I feel if he wasn't so far removed from the reality of society things would be run much more differently. Those of us who work wouldn't have to worry about our future, our children's future and our grand children's future because he would truly understand what we go through.

Despite some of the frustrations politics and differences in opinion bring. I can make a difference each day, and so can anyone else. I know a lot of us live far beneath our privilage because we do not see our own value and worth.

It is easy to focus on the negative things that tear us down and then allow it to have effects on us. Why do we keep tearing ourselves down and why don't we build ourselves up for a change.

We each can make a difference and can impact the lives of those around us and we impact the lives of others they begin to do the same until it is like a huge domino effect all the way around the world.

In the meantime I am going to focus on the fact that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and knows each of us by name. The fact that we have an opportunity to serve others each day and make someone's life better. The fact that we have family wether it is actual family or family in the form of a friend who loves us and cares about us.

My list could go on and on, but the main point is the fact that we are so richly blessed and have so much in our lives despite the trials we may go through. I don't know why we choose to focus so much on those things that are negative rather than those things that are a blessing to us in our lives. I guess it is easier to complain than to give thanks, which is a really sad statment. But, we can look at negative things in a much more positive way.

Like tonight, I am grateful that I watched 10 minutes of television as it re-lite the flame inside my heart to be better, teach my children and to share with those around me what I believe and the importance of being educated on things happening around us so we might be a good influence.

So rather than focusing on three bad things that happened to you today whether they be small or big try finding three good things or blessings in your life today whether they be big or small.

1) I have an adorable family who loves me
2) The inside of my car is clean (I love how refreshing that feels) :)
3)I have a job I love and that helps provide for my family

And America hasn't crumbled--not quite yet. We flew over the fiscal cliff, and we haven't seen the colapse...yet. I'm grateful that today, America itself is still limping along.
