Stop Lying to Yourself

Spoiler Alert:

Me Before You

Tonight I decided to go see the movie "Me Before You", the previews portrayed it as a love story between two individuals who against all odds are making life better for themselves and for each other. I thought, sounds nice, looks romantic, looks clean something to walk away feeling good about. As the movie begins to unfold, Will's caretaker Lou falls in love with him for who he is a quadriplegic smart man who is trying to find happiness in life. Throughout the story we find out that Will is going to give his life 6 more months for his parents sake and then will undergo a procedure of assisted suicide in a medical facility in Switzerland. When Lou finds out she has already fallen in love with Will for who he is now and not what he was before his accident. She decides to not tell Will that she knows the horrifying truth and loves him anyway trying to make him see that life is possible for the two of them that is happy, full of love, joy and experiences together. Will, loves Lou as well and multiple times expresses that she is what makes him want to get out of his wheel chair and walk and makes his life full. In essence Lou filled that void for Will and you can see he is a happier man with her and she a happier woman with him. Despite their love for one another Will tells Lou that he can't hold her back in life and is going to go through with the procedure anyways Lou proclaims "You are a selfish man Will Trainor and I wish I would have never met you, my heart is here in front of you giving you all that I have and it has been crushed". The story ends with Will having an assisted passing in Switzerland and him leaving her money to go live her life by taking trips around the world for sometime.

I was crushed, I can't stand to see individuals who have potential, love, support, hope, a brighter future and then to see them choose unhappiness or non fulfillment. Since when is it ever okay regardless of what we are going through to just want to choose to end our own lives. We are human I understand and are not perfect, but with being human that also means we have the best strength to fight our worst selves, we are each worth fighting for no matter how horrible our circumstances are.

If there are any of you out there who are thinking, I can just not bare another day in my shoes, it's too hard to wake up and be me and be in so much pain the world would be a better and happier place without me. I want to tell you, STOP TELLING YOURSELF SUCH LIES...YOU are WRONG... the World NEEDS YOU! There are people out there who are effected by your goodness, by your personality, by your presence that have better lives because of you. Don't crush the hearts of those that selflessly love you, care for you, want to be your friend, who are fighting for you. "For behold, the worth of a soul is great in the sight of God". That means YOU, your soul is great in the sight of God and to all those around you.

For those of you struggling with this, I challenge you to go try something new today that brings light into your life. Surround yourself by those who are bright, go do something nice for a friend, believe in yourself and most importantly do something that helps you to start loving yourself again because your life is worth living.  We need you, the world needs you and God needs you.

Those are my feelings, now go out and do something good for yourself today for you and don't be selfish be selfless and see what happens when you put You Before Me.

"Sweet Birds Singing"

I love Sunday's I think they are always the most beautiful day out of the entire week. Even if it snows or rains on a Sunday, today the birds are singing and I hope it is a sign that spring is just around the corner.

Music to my ears is this little one sleeping! I love her sweet little face and tiny little body, she is so dependant on me and I love her with all my heart.

It's the Small Things

This has been my new world the past three weeks, spending time with my little Hudson and taking care of our newborn Lexington. Hudson is a great big brother and helps out more often than I would like sometimes... however I am grateful he is so helpful because it makes my job easier as a Mom.

He brings me diapers, blankets, toys, burp rags, the trash can, left over food from his plate... you name it. He is always concerned about his little sister and if she has what she needs. :)

Go do something fun today with your kids even if it is just going out for a drive in the car, or if it is going through the Krispy Kreme drive through for a doughnut! :)

Life is Good!

Just when you think life can't get any better it does. It doesn't take much to make me happy really, it truly is the small and simple things in life that makes life truly sweet. Although Mike and I are both tired of the little time we have each day as a family (mainly because we only have a couple of hours with Hudson before bed each day to truly play with him and be together as a family Monday through Friday) there are still those little quiet moments that make my heart swell with joy and gratitude for the moments we do have together reguardless of their length.

Here are some of my favorite photographs of our sweet moments over the past couple of weeks.
Mike bought this stuffed dog for Hudson and he loves it so much it gets carried all around our house!
Hudson has been obsessed with the tape measure, in fact I recently had to hide it because he would not give it up when we needed to use it for something.
Our little Minion for Halloween, I made his costume and everything!
Hudson is so curious and is SO aware of his surroundings, when we put up decorations while he was sleeping that was the first thing he noticed when we went outside for the first time. Here he is discovering the candle inside the pumpkin (don't worry it wasn't lit).
I was Lucy from Dispicable Me 2, Mike was Gru and Hudson was our Minion
Maybe someday I will get around to covering this rocking chair; there is adorable polk a dotted fabric at Hancock fabrics I just haven't had the time or extra funds to go and purchase it. I love this picture though beceause Hudson loves his stuffed animals and has to have them when rocking him to sleep; I love it because they are almost as big as he is and it is precious to watch him cart them around.
When is Hudson not sitting on Mike or jumping on his back. I love this picture because Mike was just hanging out on the floor and Hudson brought him a book and sat right down; Mike had to be creative and guess what pictures he was looking at and make up a story about it at the same time.
The two pictures above are of Hudson sitting on things again, he loves to sit on random things or things that are his size. At first I thought the picture of Hudson on the cables were electrical cables but Mike promises they go to a bridge at a park they were recently at.
Right now this is my favorite maternity shirt because it is pink and I am having a girl, I have always liked the color pink but have never been one to truly wear it this is the first pink shirt I have actually purchased for myself that is this vibrant and that I actually wear often and enjoy it.
Mike and I have enjoyed going to football games for one of his young men at church. Even though it was cold it is fun to bundle up and wrap Hudson up as well.
Our sweet Hudson on the Teeter Todder with his Dad; look at that face I love it!
Family Hike and my two handsome boys! (top picture) Hudson once again sitting all on his own; ha ha I just can't get enough of his adorable personality

This has been Hudson's routine every single day after we get home from work; we can't go inside until he has had a chance to sit upfront and press the hazard light button and put his hands on the wheel!

My favorite month of the year!

I have to say September is by far my absolute favorite month out of the entire year! Probably because it is my Birthday month! This year was extra, extra special because for my birthday my Sister and her adorable family came to visit me in DC! It seriously was perfect, and on top of it she was here when we found out what we are having! Just when I thought life couldn't get any better my husband and I went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a family vacation before the month was over as well! So I had quite an exciting Birthday month and feel so blessed for all the amazing things in my life. I thank Heavenly Father for the precious moments and memories that all of these experiences have brought to me in my life. I would be lost without my Savior and feel blessed for all the amazing people in my life.
 Warning: LOTS OF ADORABLE PICTURES!!!
